Food at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana

Which restaurants do you have access to when staying at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana?

Not only do you have access to the restaurants located at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana, but you can also access, with no additional charge, some of the restaurants at The Royalton Punta Cana.

We made all our restaurant reservations on the app and as our preference for our evening meals is to always eat in a sit-down restaurant rather than eat at the buffet. We did just that, and for all 14 nights of our stay managed to book a restaurant on the app for each night.

Restaurants at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana

Selections buffet

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we chose to only eat here at breakfast. On this holiday we were early risers most days. I would recommend getting to the buffet when it opens at 7am, it was a very different experience to getting there at 9am.

I often enjoyed a freshly-made omelette or two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs. I loved the hot sauce and always added to it my eggs, but for some reason it was sometimes on the counter and sometimes wasn’t, but when it wasn’t I asked one of the servers who kindly went and found it for me.

I also enjoyed the pancakes on several visits and I always looked out for when they were being freshly cooked. I also had a very generous amount of Nutella with mine!

Bella Cucina

We dined here twice. Starters are served buffet style and on our first visit they had burrata, which I love, drizzled with olive oil, balsamic and with some focaccia. It was delicious.

Whilst I wasn’t as impressed with the pizza, as I prefer a thin crisply base, the toppings were nice. Although I did thoroughly enjoy the pasta dishes. The Spaghetti Pesto was my favourite – simple, fresh and delicious, just how Italian food should be.

Of course I could not resist the Tiramisu for dessert.

Mexicana Cantina

We enjoyed three dinners here and due to the choice available we were able to enjoy a variety of dishes.

My favourite appetizers were the ‘Vallarta style fish ceviche’.

And the melted cheese with chorizo, which I highly recommend ordering with the street guacamole, as they worked really well together.

Mr B loved the tacos. His favourites were the shrimp tacos and the battered fish tacos.

Whilst my favourite main was the fajitas, I got a mix of chicken and beef, if you order these don’t forget to order a sauce with them. I also recommend ordering an extra appetizer of the guacamole. That’s just what I did and it made a great fajita plate.

For dessert, on every visit I ordered the tres leches cake. I loved how moist and sweet it was.

Under The Sea

We enjoyed two dinners at this seafood restaurant. As well as really enjoying the food we really liked the décor and open space. Visually, it was our favourite.

Between us, we had two appetizers which were absolutely delicious. The tuna and avocado tartar and the grilled octopus, both were fantastic, fresh and very tasty.

For the main course, Mr B really enjoyed the Creole fish fillet.

Funnily enough, whilst being in a seafood restaurant, my favourite main was actually the Goat stew! I’ve had some delicious goat stews and curries in the Caribbean so I just can’t resist ordering it when I see it on a menu, the goat was so tender and really flavourful. I highly recommend this dish.

Please do not visit this restaurant without having the lemon meringue pie for dessert. I had it on both visits and it was my favourite dessert of the entire holiday!

Bites

For a quick lunch this was a great option, freshly cooked hot dogs, burgers and fries, with all the toppings and sauces available.

Food truck

When we enjoyed our time by the activity pool and didn’t want a big lunch we enjoyed a freshly cooked burger from here. We found the burgers at the resort to be very good.

Grazie

We liked that the Italian restaurants at both resorts were slightly different and not a replication of each other, in terms of the décor and the menu.

We also enjoyed sitting outside during our dinners at Grazie.

An appetizer so tasty that I had it on two occasions at Grazie, was the beef carpaccio. Thinly sliced with some black pepper, olive oil and parmesan shavings, it was delicious.

We enjoyed a few different pasta dishes during our evenings at Grazie, including a Pesto pasta and the lasagne. But my favourite was the Gnocchi with mozzarella and pomodoro sauce and Mr B’s was the Seafood pasta.

Of course, it had to be Tiramisu for dessert.

Jade

This was our favourite restaurant out of all the dining options at both resorts.

We liked to order a few different appetizers to share and the ones we most enjoyed were the Chicken satay, the pork gua bao, age gyoza and the spicy Tom Khai Gai soup.

Our favourite main dishes were the Pad Thai noodles.

The General Tso chicken and the Suan La Xia which always came with such a generous amount of plump sweet shrimp.

The ginger and honey custard and the Japanese cheesecake for our dessert choice, when we had room and not ordered an extra mian to share!

Score Sports Bar and Grill

You don’t need a reservation to visit here. We went for dinner one night but honestly, I wouldn’t bother going for dinner, it’s more of a snack stop or good for late night munchies.

Whilst nothing we had was bad, it wasn’t a dinner venue. Our mistake, but don’t let that put you off visiting for a light lunch, mid-day snack or something to soak up the cocktails!

Food truck

Enjoying a relaxing day at the beach drinking fabulous cocktails, our go-to lunch was a burger and fries from the food truck located next to the beach bar.

The hot dogs from here were rally nice too, but the burgers were really great.

Room service

This was one thing that was really hit and miss for us at the resort. We tried a few times to order breakfast for the next day, but was never able to get an early slot. I ordered once in the evening about 11pm and it took nearly two hours to arrive.

But we ordered once after we had been on an excursion and the food was great and it came in good time, so this is exactly what I mean when I say hit or miss.

We liked the choice of dining venues between the two resorts and something important for us as we aren’t really a fan of buffets, was that we were able to book a restaurant to enjoy dinner at each evening. We absolutely didn’t go hungry and had some really great dishes which we liked so much we ordered again!
