On our recent weekend away to London we wanted to explore Spitalfields and enjoy everything it had to offer.
Here are my recommendations on what to do in Spitalfields . . . .
Explore Spitalfields market
Get lost in the variety of stalls the market has to offer.
The market oozes creativity. There are so many unique items for sale from a wonderful variety of independent sellers.
Spitalfields Market really covers everything from clothes, art, jewellery, pet accessories, gifts and much more.
Pampering
Who doesn’t love a good pamper session? I headed to the Amazon Salon in Spitalfields to be thoroughly looked-after and spoiled.
I enjoyed the signature facial. It was a wonderful facial, where I was so relaxed I nearly fell asleep on more than one occasion! My skin felt absolutely glowing afterwards and my therapist was utterly lovely.
I also had a fabulous blow dry, where I had a lovely hair wash and super blow dry which left me with natural looking waves.
Spitalfields is also home to the wonderful Townhouse where you can have a fabulous manicure or pedicure whilst sipping on your drink of choice. A lovely pedicure whilst sipping on a chilled glass of prosecco, sounds bliss!
If you haven’t yet been introduced to Malin + Goetz you are missing out. This luxurious brand has skincare, fragrance and candles. The team who work in the shop were so polite and friendly. They matched some wonderful home fragrances for us by asking about our lifestyle, our likes and dislikes. Not only did they really take time to make sure they matched us to something we loved and would suit our home, the entire experience was really fun and did get us to try some new and fun fragrances.
Beer tasting
Mr B couldn’t wait to visit Kill The Cat. It is a craft beer lover’s dream with a huge number of beers to enjoy in the bar and to take away. But as well as sitting down in the relaxing and friendly bar, you can also book onto one of their beer tastings which is just what Mr B and I did.
It was lovely and relaxed with our fantastic host Tom introducing us to some new and fun beers we had not tried before. His passion and love of craft beers shone and Mr B loved chatting to him about all things beer!
Eat
You will be spoilt for choice on where to eat! There are many restaurants in Spitalfields. We enjoyed a wonderful Italian feast at Alfi, who have a fantastic selection of Italian dishes and serve up some great organic and natural wines along with some great cocktails. Read my full review of our dining experience at Alfi on this blog post . . .
Spitalfields Market is home to some fantastic street food vendors, whatever cuisine you fancy I am sure you will find it! The ones we tried and loved were tacos and burritos from Dos Mas Tacos. If you visit you really have to order the beef birria tacos, they were a taste sensation!
We also had pizza from Sud Italia, fans of Neapolitan pizza will be delighted. Our pizzas had a thin base and lovely fluffy edges which had a great char from the pizza oven. We had one with pepperoni and the other with nduja. Both were delicious and let the quality ingredients shine.
Shopping
As well as the range of traders in Spitalfields Market you can find an abundance of great shops to enjoy some retail therapy, from clothing, fragrance, homeware and more.
Whilst I enjoyed browsing Benefit and was in my element exploring and smelling all the luxurious products in Malin + Goetz, Mr B was in his element browsing the sports gear from ON which are one of his much-loved running shoe brands.
And if you visit at Christmas like we did, make sure to enjoy all the wonderful decorations.
