Friday Night at Dandelion Kimberley

Located on Kimberley high street is a lovely independent café which has added a new string to its bow. They are now opening until late on a Friday night, making it the perfect stop after work for celebrating the end of the working week!

On our visit we sat at a window table, but they also have a lovely little seating area at the back which welcomes dogs if you are visiting in the daytime with your pooch.

They have a selection of bottled beers, wines by the glass or bottle, prosecco and a range of spirits. For me it was time for a Friday G&T!

Bur not to worry as if you are the designated driver or don’t fancy a drink they have a good soft drink selection and also do great coffee which is still available to order even on the late night opening.

The sharing menu has a selection of homemade dishes for you pick from. We chose the homemade houmous served with warm pitta bread. Mr B and I both love houmous and if you like the stuff you can get in the tubs at the supermarket you need to try homemade houmous – it’s always so much nicer!

And this one didn’t disappoint. Perfect for sharing, our bowl of houmous adorned with olives was fresh and tasty, served with warm crispy pittas which are perfect for scooping up a generous mouthful.

The second dish we chose was an obvious choice as soon as we saw it – baked camembert served with fruit chutney and rosemary focaccia bread. Who doesn’t love baked camembert?

This was everything you want and dream of when thinking of baked camembert – soft, gooey and glorious, spiked with fresh garlic and rosemary which gave additional flavours to the already scrumptious cheese.

The focaccia bread was perfect for dunking and getting a big scoop of luscious cheese!

It was such a lovely way to spend a Friday evening, chatting over a nice drink and lovey sharing plates. I was driving so whilst Mr B enjoyed another beer I had a salted caramel frappe – oh boy was this a good choice. It is what I describe as a pudding drink, perfectly made and just right for my sweet tooth!

So as well as popping into this lovely local cafe for a weekend eggs benedict or lunchtime coffee and cake, you can now enjoy a Friday evening visit to wind down over a cold drink and delicious homemade sharing plates.
