St. Regis Hotel Cairo: Is This Cairo’s Most Luxurious Hotel?

The luxury and glamour oozed from every corner of the St Regis Hotel in Cairo. It is an utterly fabulous hotel and was the perfect base for our four nights in Cairo whilst we explored all the wonders in and around this special city.

We stayed in a Nile view deluxe room. It had a generous amount of space throughout.

The bathroom had his-and-hers sinks, a separate walk-in shower, separate bathtub and the softest fluffiest white towels and bathrobes.

Don’t worry if you forget any toiletries as you will find everything you need in your bathroom provided. Toiletries are by Sodash and you will find body wash, body lotion, soap, shampoo, shower gel, REN facial wash, bath salts, cotton wool, toothbrush and toothpaste, mouthwash, razor and shaving cream and comb.

There is an abundance of wardrobe space, drawers and hangers.

Our bedroom had what Mr B declared the comfiest hotel bed he has ever slept in (and we’ve slept in quite a few hotel beds in our time!). The king bed was indeed a dream to sleep in and each evening turn down service had serviced our room with the bed prepared, curtains drawn, slippers at our bedside, water next to our bed and the most yummy handmade chocolates.

The room had a free-standing mirror, a sofa, large desk and a mini bar.

We had plenty of bottled water in our room and a Nespresso coffee machine along with Dilmah tea bags.

Each time we entered our room, whether day or night, we always went over to the full-length windows to take in our Nile view.

The hotel has a gym, spa and an indoor pool for guests to enjoy.

We enjoyed time by the outdoor pool – the plush sunbeds were lovely to relax on, especially after a full day sightseeing.

The wonderful pool team were always on hand to lay down towels, bring complementary water and assist in any way.

The outdoor pool and whirlpool were a lovely oasis to escape to and Mr B and I are both glad we got to enjoy some time relaxing there.

When it comes to dining the St Regis has a lovely selection of venues.

But let’s start with breakfast. This is served in La Zisa restaurant and we are very pleased we got to enjoy breakfast here each morning. With a view over the Nile the setting of the restaurant was wonderful. Staff are attentive and were always happy to help.

We took our waiter’s assistance when we were asking what we should choose if we would like to try traditional Egyptian breakfast dishes. He treated us to an array of dishes and it was such a lovely way to be introduced to some new Egyptian food. Our favourites were the Foul mudammas and feteer meshaltet.

There was a large range of dishes available from the buffet, a wonderful amount of fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, meats, cheese, dips, salads and breads.

There was a range of hot options as well as cooked-to-order items such as pancakes, waffles and eggs, any style.

We enjoyed one lunch and one evening meal in the St Regis. On our day of departure we enjoyed a relaxing poolside lunch at Sirocco, where we enjoyed an ice cold beer and each had a delicious pizza.

If you are celebrating a special occasion in a hotel, the St Regis Cairo is the place to be. I let them know beforehand it was Mr B’s birthday on the day we were checking in and they made it so very special.

We received the most wonderful treats in our room and were then spoiled at dinner.

The hotel has an Asian restaurant and a steakhouse, but for his birthday Mr B and I chose to dine in the Italian.

They had reserved us a picture-perfect table overlooking the Nile. Our table was adorned with rose petals and candles for our celebration.

The menu had a lovely range of tempting Italian dishes. To start I ordered the Tuna Tartare whilst Mr B chose the Burrata Caprese. Both were delicious and like most Italian dishes, the quality and freshness of the ingredients were key and the taste was superb.

For mains I ordered the mushroom and truffle pizza. I absolutely adore truffle and luckily for me the chef was not shy about using it on my pizza – it was divine. Mr B enjoyed the Tagliatelle with prawns and tomatoes in a prawn sauce. Again it was delicious, it had a lovely intense rich flavour from the sauce with perfect homemade pasta and plump prawns.

We did not need to order dessert as the restaurant team kindly presented Mr B with an incredible chocolate truffle birthday cake.

The entire team at the St Regis made the day so special for Mr B and it’s certainly a birthday he will always look back on fondly. It’s not every day you celebrate a birthday in Cairo and get utterly spoiled at the St Regis!

On our travels and adventure in Cairo, we were told often that we were staying in the best hotel in Cairo and after enjoying four nights there I have to say, they were absolutely correct. As luxury hotel stays go, it really doesn’t get much better than the St Regis Cairo.
