For Mr B and I, the holiday starts when we have checked in, dropped off our suitcases, have gone through security and are sipping away on a glass of bubbles, toasting the start of another fantastic holiday together.
Before our departure from Birmingham Airport, we enjoyed a luxury breakfast at Bottega Prosecco Bar, it was the perfect pre-flight treat.

We started off with drinks, a latte for me and americano for Mr B, and as our usual airport tradition, we ordered a bottle of fizz. We opted for the ‘Bottega Gold Prosecco DOC Spumante Brut’, it’s a perfect premium prosecco. However, in my opinion you really can’t go wrong with any of the Bottega proseccos. I have tried them all over the years and it’s a very good brand, (the limoncello is always a regular on our drinks trolley at home too!).

Back to the drinks on offer at the prosecco bar. If prosecco isn’t your tipple of choice, they also offer a range of cocktails, draught beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic cocktails.

For the full English breakfast-lovers out there, they offer an ultimate Italian style breakfast and also do breakfast focaccia sandwiches.

But my breakfast choice was the ‘Salmon and eggs’, free range scrambled eggs with Scottish smoked salmon, capers, chives, rocket and toasted focaccia. It was light and fresh and paired perfectly with the light crisp prosecco.

Mr B opted for the ‘Prosciutto and Eggs’ which was free range scrambled eggs with prosciutto, rocket, chives and toasted focaccia.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and the entire experience.

The food quality was great, the service was very friendly and efficient and importantly to Mr B and I, we were not rushed. We were left to sip on our prosecco and take as long as we wanted. With the board detailing flight details just a few steps away, we timed it perfectly so that we could sit and relax at our table enjoying our breakfast before heading straight to the gate before boarding.

The Bottega Prosecco Bar is now my number one place to enjoy pre-flight drinks and food at Birmingham Airport. I’m hoping our next departure from Birmingham is in the afternoon so we can enjoy the charcuterie boards and try the tiramisu!
